We recently added to our burgeoning line-up of partnerships one of the most acclaimed names in the short-lets management world – Hostmaker. Now, the company’s hosts will be offered an exclusive rate to install Klevio, enabling guests to access properties remotely from their smartphones. Exciting? We think so!
Since launching in London last year, we’ve increasingly been expanding out into other areas of the country, to the extent that we’re now adding over 200 users nationally each week.
One of our key market segments has been owners of short-let properties, but at Klevio we’ve always been convinced that our product can also serve as the perfect key management solution on a larger-scale, too. Indeed, since launching last May, we’ve signed partnerships with a number of other property management firms including Resident.ly, Stay Keepers, Perch, Club Living, and Urang Group.
And now we are delighted to be adding award-winning short-let management service Hostmaker to that impressive roll-call.
Founded by Nakul Sharma in 2014, Hostmaker has operations in nine international destinations to date: London, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Cannes, Florence and Bangkok, managing over 2,000 curated homes across these markets. Working with partners including Airbnb, BNP Paribas and Zoopla, the company has hosted more than 400,000 guests since 2014, generating earnings of over £60 million for homeowners along the way.
With this latest partnership, guests staying in a Hostmaker home with Klevio can now be sent a digital key for them to access the property at the start of, and during, their stay. With travel disruption often making meet-and-greets a real hassle, the ability to check-in without a key handover can be a blessing for guests and hosts alike. What’s more, it removes the need for a lock box to store a physical key, and hosts get the added security of being able to monitor every ‘unlock’ via a time-coded event log, too.
Veronica Rivas, Head of Guest Services at Hostmaker, said: “Klevio was a no brainer for us. We’ve been eager to work with the team and make the technology available to our hosts for a long time. Having Klevio installed as standard for all our future host properties will make a marked difference to us as a company and to our guests. We were one of the first to spot the opportunity to make home sharing hassle free for Hosts and Guests and believe we’re doing so again when it comes to improving our services. We want to provide added reliability to our guests. Sometimes travel disruption can cause problems outside of everyone’s control, and we want to be able to give access to our guests remotely, as well as in person, to ensure a great quality of service, security benefits and ease of control and tracking for our overseas property owners.”

Klevio’s Co-founder and CEO, Aleš Špetič, added: “For companies like Hostmaker, Klevio offers a fantastic solution to two common problems – greeting visitors and key management. A lot of time and money goes into having a person available at the property to meet guests and hand over keys, and into getting keys to anyone who may service the space, like a cleaner. Klevio removes the hassle and provides the company with a log showing when people have accessed the property, and keys can be revoked at any time. So when delays happen or plans change, there’s a new option to ensure guests gain access easily, without the use of a lock box. We’re delighted to be partnering with an industry leader like Hostmaker, and excited to see Klevio installed in many of their hosts’ properties.”
Ben Khiaban, Lettings & Residential Manager at Urang Property Management Ltd, commented: “Klevio is a game changer disrupting the Property Management Agency industry. The time, money & hassle saved by remotely letting in contractors, surveyors and anyone else is staggering. Klevio has not only improved our efficiency but differentiated us from other management firms on the market.”
